Prospects The Group’s business operations environment remains challenging and volatile. Although the prices of raw materials and shipping costs remain relatively high but slowly trending downward, the foreign exchange rate of the United States Dollar versus Ringgit Malaysia reversed to trending upwards. The increase in electricity and gas tariffs since 1 January 2023 has become major cost component in the current financial quarter and beyond. Coupled with higher cost of borrowing, the Group has incurred higher loss in the current quarter. While the demand for tissue paper and personal care products remain stable in the shorter term, competition is intensive in our export market. The Board will continue to be resilient in the changing business environment, control production costs and seize new customers to efficiently utilise its installed production capacity.
