Business Background Lay Hong Bhd is engaged in integrated livestock farming. The two core businesses of the group are integrated livestock farming (ILF) and retail operation. The ILF segment accounts for the majority of firm’s revenue, which is further broken down into three separate segments namely layer, broiler and food processing. The operations are carried out in Peninsular Malaysia state of Selangor, Perak, Melaka, and Sabah in East Malaysia while the retail operation is concentrated only in the state of Sabah.

Russia harvested a record-high 153.8 million tonnes of wheat in 2022, driving farmers to turn to international customers to empty silos ahead of the new crop. Also, Ukraine forecasted output to be strong in the next marketing year as the current winter wheat harvest was larger than expected. US currency also on weakness, further reduce import cost, boosting up profit margin.
