Picorp has a very strategic asset in the form of ALS Technichem. They're involved in heavy metal and environmental sample analysis. Now there aren't many players within that sector and the majority of private diagnostic labs refer samples to ALS for heavy metal screen, two other notables are Kbiocorp and Niosh. Niosh and Kbiocorp aren't very popular with the OH doctors as they're more comfortable with the SI unit and report presentation by ALS. ALS is an attractive acquisition target looking at TPG backed PAH trying to plug all the gaps but they in their own right have the capacity to deliver as more and more companies are allocating budget for heavy metal analysis. What would the future hold for Picorp? Only time will tell.
