Then he pursued his career into the banking and finance industry during the period from 1992 to 1994 when he held the positions as Marketing Executive for Malaysia Export Credit Insurance Bhd (1992 to 1993), as Account Manager, Corporate Banking and Treasury of Perwira Habib Bank Malaysia Bhd (1993 to 1994) and as Assistant Manager, Business Development in the Malaysia Monetary Exchange / Kuala Lumpur Commodities Exchange (1994). Thereafter, he ventured out of the banking sector to join Segari Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd/Malakoff Bhd ("Malakoff") in 1994 for a 5 years stint as Treasury Accountant/Senior Manager,Group Corporate Planning. He started moving up the corporate ladder when he joined Padiberas Nasional Berhad ("Padiberas") in 1998 and was appointed as its Chief Executive Officer on 28 August 2003, a position that he held until March 2007. Encik Ahmad Fuad has been a member of the working committee for the "Direktorat Perlaksanaan Negara" of the Malaysian Economic Planning Unit in the Prime Minister's Department since June 2007, advising on high impact projects in the agricultural sector for RMK9 as well as on "supply chain" in the agricultural industry.
