Abdul Latif graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from University Technology MARA, Malaysia and holds an MBA from University of Hull, England.
Working Experience
Abdul Latif began his career as Asea Brown Boveri as a substation design engineer in 1982 and subsequently headed its substation contracts department. He joined Groupe Schneider in 1992 as General Manager, Operations in charge of Power Transmission & EPE Power Corporation Berhad (“EPE”) as Senior General Manager – Power Distribution and in 2000 was appointed Chief Operation Officer in charge of the EPE Group’s power generation, transmission and distribution businesses. He became Managing Director of EPE in 2001. He was designated Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Ranhill Power Bhd in 2004 following the acquisition of EPE by Ranhill Bhd. He was Group Managing Director of the Company from 1 July 2005 until 25 January 2011 where he was re-designated as Non-Executive director of the Company.
